## Biography

Morgan Ågren (born July 13, 1967) is a Swedish drummer renowned for his extraordinary technical ability and complex polyrhythmic playing. He began drumming as a child and formed the Mats/Morgan Band with keyboardist Mats Öberg in 1981, performing Frank Zappa's music. Ågren has collaborated with Dweezil and Ahmet Zappa, recorded the legendary Sol Niger Within album with Meshuggah's Fredrik Thordendal, and has been a member of progressive rock band Kaipa since 2002. He's also worked with Devin Townsend on Casualties of Cool and Empath. A documentary about him, "Morgan Ågren's Conundrum: A Percussive Misadventure," was released in 2013.
