Which is better, Jocke Wallgren or Daray?
Jocke Wallgren and Daray sit at different points on extreme metal's speed-versus-groove spectrum. Wallgren prioritizes driving, danceable groove and double bass power that serves Amon Amarth's gang-vocal Viking anthems. Daray prioritizes raw blast-beat velocity and theatrical extremity across two of Europe's most demanding extreme metal bands. The comparison highlights how melodic death metal and blackened/technical death metal ask fundamentally different things of a drummer's low end.
